Visakha Utsav attracts thousands

Visakhapatnam: An estimated one lakh people thronged the beach road during this weekend to participate in Visakha Utsav--touted as India's largest beach festival. As Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh declared the festival inaugurated on Saturday evening, a carnival type atmosphere prevailed with all roads in the city leading to the beach road. Folk artisans in colourful attires enthralled the audience. Several food courts with famous local cuisine attracted the fun-loving tourists and locals. The extended weekend created a holiday mood. Speaking on the occasion, Durgesh said as per the decision of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, they are trying to promote tourism in a big way in the entire North Andhra.
